  • 1/9/18 Leeds:  Another lovely visit.  An ideal position for visiting for many interesting places.  Great view too!
  • 18/8/18 Rotherham:  This is our second visit to this lovely cosy cottage.  The view if beautiful.  We have really enjoyed our two week stay. Thank you.
  • 4/8/18  Chesire:  Thank you for a wonderful stay at Rowan Cottage.  We have visited many places, had great weather and have lot of memories of the more grogeous views.  We have been to Whitby, done the steps and Abbey, Scarborough, Falling Foss, Castle Howard and the fab Perry’s riverside cafe.  Eaten well by the love the Cross Butts restaurant.  Thanks again.
  • 28/7/18 Lancashire:  Thank you for a perfect stay in your beautiful cottage!  …We have stayed in our fair share of UK holiday cottages and this is the best by far – clean, spacious (loads of room for 3 generations), lovely furnishings/ decor, really well equipped…a home from home!!  We feel like we’ve found a real gem and will definitely book again in the future – thank you!
  • Jun-July 18 Sussex:  Another great holiday in this lovely cottage, helped by fantastic weather.  The best for for the longest time we can remember in 30+ years of NYM county and well equipped as ever…look forward to next year your hard work keeping the cottage well maintained is really appreciated.
  • 2/6/18 Rotherham:  It has been a fantastic week packed full of activities.  We recommend the National Birds of Prey centre at Helmsley and both Sandsend and Runswick bay for great beaches.  All was capped by the endeavour sailing into Whitby on Friday evening.  Fab house, has been really comfy.
  • 22/5/18 Hertfordshire:  Our first visit to Rowan Cottage unfortunately only on a short break…a true home from home.  Being fossil hunters we’ve cleared all your beaches of ammonites (not possible)!  We’ve been so lucky with glorious weather visiting Port Mulgrave, Sandsend, Runswick and Southwick….Such a wonderfully comfortable home – we will return in the not too distant future.
  • 2/5/18  USA:  Very cute little place with easy access to Whitby. The place is easy to miss so pay very close attention to the directions. We were only there for two nights, but wish we could have stayed longer.

  • 2/1/18 Stayed for 5 days over the New Year , 4 Adults, plenty of space, Andy had the heating on & a few basic essentials ready for us to use, Thanks Andy. Cottage is well placed, during our stay we visited Pickering, Helmsley, Whitby, Scarborough plus a few other places on the coast, all were within an hour of cottage. We also went out drinking one of the evenings in Whitby, taxi was less than £10 each way. There is a really good pub in the village called The Plough, the staff & locals were all very friendly & made us all welcome, they also serve some lovely home cooked food. We all really enjoyed our stay at Rowan Cottage & would all love to visit in the future.

  • 4/10/17 We’ve had a lovely few days exploring this area for the first time, lucky enough to coincide with a steam train gala.  Cottage is lovely with a well supplied kitchen although the house plumbing can be a bit noisy.   [Andy& Jo:  That comment gratefully received and happy to report we have resolved the knocking pipes, and upgraded the kitchen tap in the process!]
