Enjoy a guided tour of the night sky, focusing on objects in our solar system (the moon and other planets) as well as stars that reside far away from Earth within our Milky Way galaxy. Use our telescopes and binoculars to view a range of constellations and the objects that reside within them, including deep sky objects such as nebulae, star clusters and galaxies.
Dalby Forest is within the North York Moors National Park, which in 2020, was designated an International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark-Sky Association, one of only 18 in the world.
Wrap up warm as it can get very cold on a night we will have lots of hot drinks and biscuits to help keep you warm If you have your own equipment please feel free to bring it, even a pair of binoculars and a blanket to lie on can be great.
We will have our indoor planetarium on standby in case the weather does not allow us to see any stars outside. Using this we can take you on a virtual tour of the night sky and even on a journey through our entire universe. This means we will only cancel an event if Dalby is inaccessible due to weather conditions.
This event takes place at our Dalby Explorer Hub, located in the Courtyard at the opposite end of the carpark to the main visitor centre. If you park at the main visitor centre carpark and then follow signs for the Dalby Bike Hub/Courtyard you will find us (please note mobile phone coverage is very poor in Dalby Forest). If you don’t have a Dalby Forest pass to cover your parking charge then we will give you a code on the night to use before you exit to give you free parking.

BIG, BIG changes are planned, and God has laid it on my heart to make no charge for a ticket for people to hear the gospel message through song or word. Anyone who has bought a ticket can either use it next year as a donation, or return together with a s.a.e. for a full refund, and decide when attending the event how much you can afford, when the offering is taken. The Holy Spirit will probably give you a figure in your heart, and you will follow His guidance! We are hoping that Jimmy Cricket will headline the Saturday matinee spot on 21st May 2022 . He is one of the sadly declining number of genuine, family friendly, really funny comics. jimmy is a commited Christian and loves to appear at events like ours at Whitby and Filey. This seems a good time to once again offer our condolences to Yvonne and the rest of the family over the calling to Glory of Bobby Ball. Bobby was a loving Husband and Father, and he will be greatly missed by his family and also by hundreds of WGMC visitors. Dozens of people came to accept Jesus following his marvelous presentation of the Gospel. Following his altar call on his first appearance at WGMC, more people were saved than at any other gospel meeting in Whitby since the 19th Century. We have not yet made any plans for our Filey Briggfest event in August. With the WGMC cancelled it is maybe a good time to get a copy of our special boxed set listed below!
