FILEY FOLK FESTIVAL was founded in 2004 by Robert Hartley, (with help from Filey Folk Club regulars Alan & Poppy Scott-Hallgate). It is one of the mainstays of this North Yorkshire seaside town’s musical year. Expect a broad range in styles of acoustic folk, blues, traditional, country, a bit of acoustic rock & pop and a very warm welcome and famously friendly atmosphere. You can catch well over 150 acts performing live at the participating venues and also busking around the seaside town. The Pub/Café/Restaurant gigs run all weekend and admission is FREE for everyone.
There are also pay on the door/ticketed concerts at the EVRON CENTRE CONCERT HALL, plus the unique atmosphere of shows at the MASONIC HALL. Prices are fairly nominal and are anything from £1 for daytime shows to £12 for special guest evening concerts.
Due to growing popularity of the folk festival, for 2020, Sunday 10th May will now be the official ‘survivors’ day. There will also be a ‘grand finale’ concert held at the Evron Centre on the Sunday too.
More information on the 2020 event coming soon!
