Our market aims to showcase the best of regional food, with a focus on:
- local, small-scale growers and makers, with a particular welcome for new start-ups.
- traditional farming and food production methods (e.g. grass fed – slow grown – free range – organic – with the highest standards of animal welfare).
- innovative and specialist approaches (e.g. vegetarian – vegan – gluten-free – projects with a social benefit).

Our regular traders include:
Butterflies Chocolates (Pocklington): Finest sustainably-sourced Belgian chocolate partnered with fresh local ingredients and no artificial additives.
Roots and Fruits Bakery (Sinnington): Delicious root and fruit based cakes plus speciality breads and pastries – many gluten-free. And… the best Sally Lunn in Yorkshire? We think so!
Newfields Organics (Fadmoor): “We only sell what we grow” … just fresh, seasonal organic vegetables.
Derwent Preserves (York): A variety of jams made from organic homegrown fruit, and also a choice of marmalades. No website – just decades of experience making top quality preserves.
The Clucking Pig (Marske by the Sea): Gourmet scotch eggs, created using only free range eggs, artisan game, rare breed/free range pork/grass fed beef, locally sourced, along with a vegetarian option.
Mind For Cooking (Kirkbymoorside): Scrumptious vegetarian and vegan savoury specialities.
High Farndale (Farndale!): Free-range pork and sausages, and grass-fed hogget and mutton.
Renaissance Cakes (Skelton-in-Cleveland): Home of the original picnic jars, filled with all manner of wonderful delights from mousse to compotes. Also an array of elegant cheesecakes, tarts and meringues.
The Little Honey Stall: Helmsley Indoor Market features this stall as an outlet for local micro-producers of honey (i.e. people with just a few hives). Currently there is Bransdale heather honey in the comb and in jars.
The Fabulous Meat and Fish Company (Welburn): Fine charcuterie, smoked meats, sausage and handmade dry cured bacon, using best quality locally produced rare breeds pork and beef, and also smoked organically fed salmon from the best fishery in Scotland.
Dales Gold (Barton-le-Street): Cold-pressed, extra virgin Yorkshire rapeseed oil – also with lemon, garlic or chilli and in gift packs.
Colt House Farm (Bransdale): Traditionally-reared, grass-fed Dexter beef.
Lacey’s Cheese (Reeth): A range of handmade artisan cheeses from Swaledale. Plus you can also book a place on a course to make your own!
