Traveling from Whitby
Leave Whitby following the signs for Pickering, and then Sleights. You will come to a roundabout on Guisborough road which will take you left towards Pickering. At the bottom of the hill you enter Sleights and pass over a bridge. Following the hill upwards you will find yourself on Coach Road. Once you have passed the Spa shop on the left, and the Post Office on the opposite side of the road then you are nearing the cottage. Shortly after passing a road on the left (Ingham close) look out for a small white milestone on the left hand side of the road, Rowan cottage is directly opposite.
Traveling from Pickering
Descend down Bluebell bank (slowly!) and you will eventually enter the village. The most prominent landmark to watch for is Eskdale fisheries, which is just past the Parish church on the right hand side of the road on the corner of Iburndale Road. The best marker for the cottage is, as above to watch for the white milestone on the right hand side of the road a few hundred yards further on. Rowan Cottage is on the left hand side directly opposite the milestone.
Travel By Train or Bus
